The project

What the product is, and what it achieved as a business. Every figure carries its date and its source.

PointPay is a cryptocurrency exchange and crypto-banking ecosystem: spot and ×25 futures, a fiat on-ramp, P2P, staking, a launchpad, a decentralised Web3 terminal, an NFT marketplace and its own EVM Layer-1 with a public explorer. It has been running since 2018 and reports 3M+ users across 200+ countries and territories, with a Forbes Digital Assets exchange profile.

What we did on it

Our role was engineering: we built the product, the client runs the business. Almost the whole surface is public and can be seen without an account.

What it achieved

The project's record, not ours: capital, listings, community and volumes, each with the date and the source it comes from. What we did for it is under "Our venture work" and "Our engineering work".

Our engineering work

PointPay is not one product but a dozen, and PointPay names them itself in its own footer: Exchange, Vault, Buy Crypto, Web3 Terminal, Launchpad, PXP Token, Voting, Token Booster, Learn & Earn, PXP Explorer, NFT Marketplace, P2P. Below is that list as shipped, each with the public URL it can be seen at today.

PointPay — Spot Exchange
The core of the platform

Spot Exchange

The core trading venue: a matching engine behind an order book, TradingView charts and a full order palette, with the pair list PointPay headlines as 200+ cryptocurrencies traded in real time. This is the screen most of the platform's traffic lives on.

What's inside
  • Order book, depth view and market history in one workspace
  • Limit, Market, Stop-Limit and OCO order types
  • TradingView charting with basic/depth modes and indicators
  • 0% commission on select pairs; fees payable in PXP
  • USDT, USDC and BTC quote markets with DEX / Layer 1 / DeFi filters
  • PointPay — Futures Market (×25)

    Futures Market (×25)

The derivatives venue, launched publicly on 1 April 2026 after testing inside the Web3 ecosystem. It offers ×25 leverage on liquid assets such as BTC and ETH with a tiered fee structure discounted by PXP.

    • ×25 leverage on liquid majors, per PointPay's own site
    • Professional workspace with advanced analytics and order types
    • Tiered maker/taker fees with PXP-based discounts
  • PointPay — Web3 Terminal

    Web3 Terminal

A decentralised mirror of the exchange, launched alongside futures in April 2026: peer-to-peer trading across more than 20 blockchain networks, without custody. It is the half of the product that turns a CEX into a hybrid.

    • Direct peer-to-peer trading across 20+ blockchain networks
    • Unrestricted on-chain spot swaps
    • On-chain futures alongside the centralised book
  • PointPay — Buy Crypto – the fiat on-ramp

Buy Crypto – the fiat on-ramp

The banking layer PointPay grew out of: instant crypto purchases with cards and bank transfers, plus a one-click convert for users who never want to see an order book.

    • Visa and Mastercard purchases in seconds
    • Bank transfer deposits as a second rail
    • Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay inside the mobile apps
  • PointPay — P2P Trading

    P2P Trading

The peer-to-peer marketplace: an alternative fiat rail where users trade with each other on their own payment methods, with the platform holding escrow.

    • Buy and sell ads with user-chosen payment methods
    • Escrow-held trades between counterparties
    • An on-ramp for regions cards do not reach
  • PointPay — Vault and Staking

    Vault and Staking

The earn side: a custody Vault for holdings a user is not trading, and flexible staking that PointPay headlines at up to 5% APR (up to 7% on PXP in its app listing).

    • Staking calculator with per-currency terms and APR
    • Up to 5% APR headline; higher rates for PXP holders
    • Vault custody for assets held outside the trading balance
  • PointPay — Launchpad, Voting and Token Booster

    Launchpad, Voting and Token Booster

The primary-market wing: early-access token sales for the exchange's own user base, an on-chain vote that decides what gets listed, and an airdrop platform that puts new tokens in users' hands.

    • Active / Upcoming / Finished sale rounds with KYC gating
    • On-chain listing voting for PXP holders
    • Token Booster airdrop campaigns for new projects
  • PointPay — PXP token and PointPay Mainnet

    PXP token and PointPay Mainnet

The ecosystem token and, underneath it, PointPay's own Layer-1: a PoS, EVM-compatible chain (Chain ID 5511) with its own block explorer, testnet and faucet. PXP is also deployed on Avalanche.

    • Own L1 mainnet: PoS consensus, EVM-compatible, 1 Gwei gas
    • PXP Explorer with 14M+ blocks and 4.7M+ transactions
    • Public testnet with a PXP faucet for developers
  • PointPay — NFT Marketplace

    NFT Marketplace

Buy, sell and mint digital collectibles inside the Web3 half of the ecosystem, spanning three chains.

    • Runs on Ethereum, BNB Chain and Polygon
    • Buy, sell, mint and collect from one connected wallet
    • Sits inside the Web3 terminal, sharing its wallet session
  • PointPay — Learn & Earn and rewards programmes

Learn & Earn and rewards programmes

The acquisition and retention machinery: educational challenges that pay out in crypto, plus referral and affiliate programmes that turn users into a distribution channel.

    • Educational challenges with token rewards on completion
    • Referral programme with per-user rewards
    • Separate affiliate programme for partners and media
  • PointPay — Trading API, accounts and verification

    Trading API, accounts and verification

The invisible, load-bearing part: multi-currency wallets and account systems sized for millions, a KYC/verification hub, and a documented public API for algorithmic access.

    • Public REST trading API with documentation on GitBook
    • Per-account API key management
    • Verification Hub with 2FA, PIN and document KYC
  • iOS and Android apps

The full ecosystem in a phone: trading, buying, staking, launchpad, Learn & Earn and referrals in one app, shipped in 18 languages since 2020.

    • Live on the App Store since July 2020, currently at v8.8.93
    • 4.6 average rating from 695 App Store ratings
    • Reward Hub, LaunchPad, Learn & Earn and Convert on the home screen

Our scope on this project

Our engagement on PointPay is engineering and ongoing technical support. We built the platform — the spot and futures venues, the Web3 half, the on-ramps and the chain around them — and we keep it shipping. The business is the client's: the capital, the listings, the community and the licensing are theirs, and none of the figures above is ours to claim.

Where the studio runs that half too, it is the whole second act of the case.
